The challenges of discipleship in the 21st Century:
How will our children learn to make ethical, moral decisions? How will they encounter Life's wonder, awe, mystery and hope?
East Woods Presbyterian Church's Children's Ministry is committed to helping children build a joyous and loving relationship with God through knowing Jesus Christ and discovering God's Word in the Holy Bible.
It is our goal to excite, engage and instruct young disciples about the Word of God through age-appropriate activities, song, drama, crafts and games. Our teachers strive to connect with each child with compassion, gentleness and humility.
As children learn about God's teachings, they will discover their place in the church, how to apply these teachings to their lives and become true disciples of Jesus Christ.
Our Nursery Attendants:
Cathy Roeper is a mom, a child care giver and works in a preschool. A group of caring, responsible youth assist Cathy is nurturing your little ones.
Each Sunday from 8:30-11:45, East Woods provides loving attention to your infants and toddlers. If you attend the early service your pre-school age children are welcome in the Nursery, also.
Sunday School:
For elementary classes, the fall, 2011 Sunday school theme is about KEY RELATIONSHIPS in the Bible, including Cain and Abel, David and Goliath, and Ruth and Naomi. Elementary children meet in classrooms for Kindergarten - Grade 2, and Grades 3-5.
In pre-school class youngsters age 3-5 enjoy roll playing Bible characters. Using the “Wee Believe” curriculum of the Presbyterian Church (USA) with its colorful, age-appropriate and user- friendly activities, the children learn that each is A Child of God, loved by God, who isCreator of all the World and You and Me, too.
Here are some of the gifted disciples who nurture our Pre-School children:

Our youth in grades 6th- 12th will be participating in World Vision's 30 Hour Famine this year. This is a program done nation wide to fight hunger. "Before this day is over, 26,000 children under age 5 will die - most of them from preventable causes like hunger, poverty and disease." Our kids will find out what it is like to go hungry this Friday-Saturday, February 27-28. Please support our kids with your prayer for this time and if you can, a donation.
