Week of Sept 27th Lesson:

I am really going to get this posted.  So for youth group this week, I want all of you to remember what the summary of our lesson two weeks ago was:  God has acted; God is acting. If you remember you will get a treat.  If you don’t then I am going to slap you and kick you out of youth group.  Ok, that isn’t really true, but you just won’t get a treat/prize.

This next week we are going to look at several different stories.  We are going to look at the Story of the Fall, the Story of Cain and Abel, and the Story of the Flood.  As we look at each of these stories, what we will be focusing on is God.  How does God react to each of these situations?  How does God respond?  Is there anger?  Is their punishment?  Is there redemption?  And the two big questions we are going ask are:

1.  What does God’s response say about who God is?

2.  What does God’s response in the stories, tell us about how God will react to us?

If you are interested in reading ahead here are the places you can find the story, if you have a bible of course, but if you don’t you can find translations on the internet (I know its crazy—it has everything)

The fall: Genesis 3 (Genesis is the name of the book of the Bible and 3 is the chapter)

Cain and Abel: Genesis 4:1-15 (same as above Genesis is the book and 4 is the chapter.  1-15 are the verses numbers—the small numbers next to sentences)

The Flood:  Genesis 6:5-9:17 (this is a long one that goes through 3 chapters, but the chapters are very short)
